It's not official if we don't talk about food when it comes to Japan. Japan is famous for sushi and sashimi but do you know their other popular food? It is the traditional rice cake called MOCHI!
This delicious rice cake was made of whole rice. The rice was pounded using a special tool called Kine and Usu.
The mortar was called Kine and the pestle was called Usu. It needs a lot of strength to pound the rice so, usually only man do this job. According to their legend, there were two rabbits that lived in the moon who taught the Japanese people to do the delicious moon snack.
And Mochi was eaten specially on the Japanese New Year. Mochi often found in colorful round shape. But they improvise the original recipe so that it will taste more delicious such as the ice- cream Mochi.
